The Minlagawi Nature Festival is back again on Thursday, 3 October, and will be bursting with fun-filled, free activities for all ages.
From babies and toddlers to teens, the festival offers an incredible array of nature-based activities for everyone to enjoy.
Visitors can look forward to a wide range of engaging experiences including Nharangga face painting, Nharangga yarning and tools, creating Nharangga clay pots, rock art, cubby building, earth drums, nature arts and crafts, henna art hand tattoos, nature crowns, brilliant bug hunts, and much more.
“The Minlagawi Nature Festival is a fantastic way for people of all ages to connect with nature, learn about Nharangga culture, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors of our region,” Mayor Darren Braund said.
“We’re delighted to support an event that fosters a sense of community and celebrates the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Yorke Peninsula.”
“Attendees are encouraged to explore and play freely within the reserve or participate in a range of hosted sessions tailored to various interests.
“Whether you’re keen on learning about traditional skills, getting creative with nature-inspired crafts, or just looking to relax and enjoy a day in the sunshine, the Minlagawi Nature Festival has something for everyone.”
Don’t forget to pack your picnic basket, snacks, and a rug to enjoy your own lovely morning tea or lunch amidst nature during the spring holidays!
The Minlagawi Nature Festival is proudly supported by the Nharangga Aboriginal Progress Association and Yorke Peninsula Council, along with Nharangga Aboriginal Cultural Tours, and the SYP Community Hub.
