Yorke Peninsula Council will fund 28 community projects through its 2026/2027 Community Grants Scheme.
The Community Grants Scheme provides funding opportunities for not-for-profit community organisations, with projects spanning culture, environment, community development, social development and welfare.
A total of $100,022.53 has been allocated to the successful applicants, with individual grants ranging from $867 to the maximum $7,500 available under the scheme.
Ardrossan Heritage Museum committee has received $3,140 through the scheme to install signs at historically significant buildings and sites.
“These grants are very helpful for community groups because they enable them to do things in their communities,” Museum secretary Brenda Bowman said.
“It adds a lot of extra value to projects by partnering with Council.”
Mayor Kylie Gray said the grants provided valuable support to local organisations delivering projects and activities that benefited their communities.
“Local community organisations are at the heart of so many of the initiatives that make Yorke Peninsula such a great place to live, work and visit,” Mayor Gray said.
“The Community Grants Scheme is a practical way Council can support these organisations to deliver projects that bring people together, improve community facilities and provide opportunities for participation right across our region.”
The 28 successful organisations include sporting clubs, progress associations, community groups, museums and other not-for-profit organisations, with funding supporting activities and initiatives in communities from north to south, east to west.
“I congratulate all of this year’s successful recipients and thank them for the time, effort and commitment they contribute to their communities,” Mayor Gray said.
“Council looks forward to seeing these projects come to life and the positive outcomes they will deliver for residents and visitors across Yorke Peninsula.”
