The Local Government Act 1999 specifies that the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for (but not limited to) the day to day operations and affairs of council, ensuring that all assets and resources of the council are properly managed and maintained, providing advice and reports to the council and ensuring that the policies and lawful decisions of the council are implemented in a timely and efficient manner.
