Expressions of interest are now open for hosting the Yorke Peninsula Council’s Australia Day Celebrations 2027
Council is committed to rotating the hosting of the celebrations throughout the Peninsula to promote community participation, showcase local townships, and provide opportunities for community fundraising and increased visitation on the Australia Day public holiday (26 January).
In accordance with Council’s PO105 Council Ceremonies and Civic Events Policy (link to the Policy), Yorke Peninsula Council invites Progress Associations and Community Groups across the Peninsula to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to host the Council’s formal Australia Day celebrations. Please note you must be an incorporated body.
This significant annual event incorporates the presentation of the region’s Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Event of the Year, and Award for Active Citizenship.
Interested organisations are encouraged to submit an EOI outlining their capacity to host the event and any proposed activities that would complement the official proceedings.
Expressions of Interest close Friday 14 August 2026
