A supplementary election will be held to fill a vacancy in Gum Flat Ward due to the passing Cr Jeff Cook.
Potential candidate nominations will open on Thursday 23 July 2020 and close on Thursday 6 August 2020.
Postal voting is expected to occur from 18 August to 7 September 2020 with election results officially declared in September 2020.
The successful candidate’s term is expected to commence October 2020 and expire at the next election in November 2022.

The electoral roll for this supplementary election closes at 5pm on Tuesday 30 June 2020.
You can check if you are on the state electoral roll online on the Australian Electoral Commission’s website. If you do not appear on the roll and are an Australian citizen aged 18 or over you should enrol immediately via the Australian Electoral Commission website.
If you are not eligible to enrol on the State electoral roll, you may still be entitled to enrol to vote if you own or occupy a property.
You may be eligible to be on the Yorke Peninsula Council voters roll if you are one of the following:
- a resident or a non-Australian citizen who has lived at your residential address for one month or more, or
- an owner of an organisation or business, or
- an owner of a holiday home, or
- a sole owner, or group of owners, of a rateable property, or
- a sole occupier, or group of occupiers, of a rateable property, or
- a landlord of rateable property.
Complete a council enrolment form to be included on the council voters roll. Copies of the forms are available here:

- Form 2 – Body Corporate: Sole Owner or Sole Occupier (tenant)
- Form 3 – Group Owners or Group Occupiers (tenants)
