On behalf of Yorke Peninsula Council, Maritime Constructions will commence a jetty pylon replacement program on 6 February for approximately four weeks. The month-long program is part of maintaining YP’s iconic jetties in optimum condition.
Seven jetties will have deteriorating pylons replaced by sister steel pylons at a cost of $240,000.
Jetties include Port Victoria, Marion Bay, Stansbury, Port Vincent, Port Julia, Ardrossan and Edithburgh. Jetties will be closed for 2-7 days while workers are on site. YPC’s Facebook page will advertise the closure dates for each jetty in the days prior to work commencing.
Stephen Goldsworthy, YPC Operations Manager said that the month-long maintenance program is an important part of preserving YP’s iconic jetties. The program begins at Port Victoria with the jetty being closed Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th February (weather permitting).
