Yorke Peninsula Council has appointed Danny Le Feuvre as Deputy Mayor following the resignation of Richard Carruthers from the position.
Mr Le Feuvre was appointed by Elected Members at Council’s September Ordinary Council meeting, in accordance with the Local Government Act 1999.
Mr Carruthers resigned from the Deputy Mayor position for personal reasons after completing four years in the role. He will continue to serve the community as an Elected Member of Yorke Peninsula Council.
Mr Le Feuvre said he was honoured to have been appointed Deputy Mayor.
“I’m looking forward to supporting Mayor Kylie Gray, my fellow Elected Members and the wider Yorke Peninsula community,” he said.
“I believe I can make a positive contribution through strong governance, constructive leadership and a practical focus on the issues that matter to our communities.
“We have some important opportunities and challenges ahead, and I want to help ensure Council continues to make sound decisions that support the long-term prosperity of the Yorke Peninsula.
“I also want to acknowledge Cr Richard Carruthers and the contribution he has made during his time as Deputy Mayor and Acting Mayor.
“Richard has given significant time and energy to the role, and I look forward to building on that work while supporting Mayor Gray and Council over the remainder of the term.”
Mayor Kylie Gray thanked Mr Carruthers for his contribution, leadership and commitment during his time as Deputy Mayor.
“Council acknowledges and sincerely thanks Richard for his dedicated service as Deputy Mayor over the past four years,” Mayor Gray said.
“His leadership, commitment and contribution have been greatly valued, and we look forward to continuing to work with him as an Elected Member.”
Mayor Gray also congratulated Mr Le Feuvre on his appointment.
“Danny brings valuable experience and a strong commitment to representing the Yorke Peninsula community,” Mayor Gray said.
“I congratulate him on his appointment and look forward to working with him in this important role.”
