Yorke Peninsula Council is inviting volunteers from across the region to a special morning tea in celebration of National Volunteers Week 2025.
The free event will be held at 10.30am on Tuesday, 20 May at the Minlaton Town Hall, and aims to thank volunteers for their hard work, commitment and community spirit.
Deputy Mayor Richard Carruthers said the morning tea is a meaningful way to recognise the enormous contributions made by volunteers across the peninsula.
“Volunteers are the heart of our communities,” he said.
“Whether it’s running local events, supporting sporting clubs, maintaining facilities, or helping those in need, their work is invaluable.
“This morning tea is a chance for us to say thank you and to bring together volunteers from different areas to connect, reflect and celebrate their shared passion for helping others.”
The morning tea also serves as a relaxed networking opportunity for volunteers to share experiences and build connections.
Council supports volunteering in many ways including through annual allocations to Progress Associations, sponsorships and donations (subject to applications), event approvals, community grants and more.
Registrations are essential for catering purposes. Please RSVP by emailing rsvp@yorke.sa.gov.au or calling 8832 0000.
