On Wednesday 19 October the Yorke Peninsula Council Alliance Members met with the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, the Hon Stephen Mullighan MP and Member for Goyder, Steven Griffiths MP, at Parliament House, Adelaide, to discuss the Federation Corner and Port Wakefield Traffic Diversion Project.
YPC Mayor Ray Agnew AM advised the meeting was very positive and discussions centred around the review and possible variation of design for the proposed roundabout to be built at Federation Corner.
Mayor Ray said “We are delighted to work closely with DPTI on improvements to Federation Corner that will bring greater safety , freight productivity and improved traffic flow.”
“I was excited to hear that traffic modelling shows that traffic backed up at Federation Corner would be reduced from 1.3 kilometres during peak holiday periods to 50 metres”, he said.
