The renewal of Port Vincent’s Fisherman’s Jetty is now complete, delivering a completely new structure designed to provide a strong, safe and secure asset for the community and visitors for generations to come.
The upgraded jetty features a flat deck, representing a significant improvement on the previous structure, which sloped downward as it extended into the water.
The new structure measures 33 metres in length and 2.6 metres in width, with 16 piles installed to support 32 concrete deck slabs.
The $500,000 project received partial funding through the Department for Infrastructure and Transport’s SA Jetties Renewal Program, which supports the long-term sustainability and safety of South Australia’s public jetties.

Following damage that resulted in the closure of the Fisherman’s Jetty, Council submitted a funding application to the SA Jetties Renewal Program in late 2023 and was advised of its successful application in mid-2024.
Mayor Kylie Gray said Council was pleased to see the important renewal project reach completion.
“The Fisherman’s Jetty is an important piece of infrastructure for the Port Vincent community and its visitors, and this renewal provides a strong foundation for its future,” Mayor Gray said.
“The new flat deck will improve the functionality of the jetty, while the design also gives us the opportunity to extend the structure in the future should the need arise.
“We are grateful for the support provided through the SA Jetties Renewal Program, which has helped Council deliver this important project.”
