Yorke Peninsula Council CEO Andrew Cameron has announced that Davey Hydraulics will undertake partial works to the Port Victoria and Port Rickaby jetties commencing on 14 December. These works are due to be completed prior to Christmas.
The partial works program enables both jetties to be open to the public for the summer holiday period, allowing holiday makers to swim and fish as usual.
The Port Victoria jetty will be repaired to a length of 143 metres (to Bent 32) while Port Rickaby will have 74 metres (to Bent 16) available for public use.
Mr Cameron said “we are delighted that rapid action will enable almost normal summer use of our jetties. Being a local company, Davey Hydraulics from Port Victoria fully understand how important our jetties are to our community and we’re particularly pleased they will be able to complete the works prior to the holiday season.”
“The second, and more complex, stage of repairs will be tendered by March 2017 with completion expected by mid year.”
