The second-year of Yorke Peninsula Council’s roadside vegetation clearance contract has recently commenced. YPC is investing close to $1 million over three years in roadside vegetation clearance and maintenance activities in the interests of road safety.
The contract, which aims to ensure that roadside vegetation does not create unnecessary risks to the travelling public and will enable most vehicle configurations to travel in a safer manner, commenced early in 2017 and saw 25 roads, including Agery Road, Clinton Road, Mount Rat Road and White Hut Road, serviced.
Roads earmarked for roadside vegetation activities in the second year of the contract include; Andrews Road, Back Road, Bittner Road, Black Bobs Road, Boundary Road, Cross Road, Davies Road, Hasting Road, Hickman Road, James Well Road, Lizard Park Drive, Lodge Road, Main Road, McFarlane Road, Miller Road, Mount Rat Wells Road, Mulburra Park Road, Nelligan Road, North South Road, Porky Road, Power Line Road, Ross Road, Sheoak Flat Road, South Kilkerran Road, Sparrow Road, Twelve Mile Road, Vinecombe Road, Yarrum Road and Yorke Valley Road.
Speaking about the contract, YPC’s Director Assets and Infrastructure Services, Trevor Graham said “Council will continue to monitor practices throughout the duration of the works to ensure that roadside vegetation activities align to the principles and guidelines within its Roadside Vegetation Management Plan”.
