Information for Current Bush Camping Permit Holders
Unfortunately due to the current non-essential travel restrictions as announced by the Prime Minster, we cannot allow campers to proceed with any planned camping trips to the Yorke Peninsula. Whilst this is truly regrettable, we hope to see visitors back as soon as these restrictions are lifted. Thank you for your understanding.
Daily and Weekly Permits
Permits will be automatically deferred so they can be used again in the future. We will be in contact as soon as travel is permitted again. If instead you require a full refund, please send a quick email to firstname.lastname@example.org and quote your permit number and outline that you would like a full refund.
Monthly and Annual Permits
An automatic ‘freeze’ will be put on monthly and annual permits and these will be reinstated as soon as the travel restrictions are lifted. If instead you would like a refund for the unused portion of your permit, please send a quick email to email@example.com, quote your permit number and outline that you would like a refund for the unused portion of your permit. If you are classified as an ‘essential’ traveller, please call 1800 202 445 or email firstname.lastname@example.org so we can discuss your needs directly with you.
Bush Camping Permit Information
In response to the Prime Minister’s announcement on 24th March 2020, and the restrictions around non-essential domestic travel, Yorke Peninsula Council Bush Camping, is now restricted.
As a result, all of our bush camps will be restricted to;
- A small minority that may be classed as ‘essential travel’. Vehicles must be self-contained with own toilet and shower facilities
- Camper trailers, roof-top tents, tents and the like will not be permitted
- All that have upcoming permits will be contacted to advise of the options going forward.
For those currently out there camping, you are encouraged to return to your homes. Council will be in contact to advise of options regarding your remaining days on your permit.
If you have purchased a Bush Camping Permit and are now unable to attend due to the COVID-19 crisis, Yorke Peninsula Council will be offering the opportunity to postpone your visit to another date over the next 12 months. If you are unable to revisit the beautiful Yorke Peninsula, we can also issue a refund on your permit.
Please call Yorke Peninsula Visitor Information 1800 202 445 for more information.
