The Yorke Peninsula Council is proudly a member of the Southern Yorke Community Partnership (SYCP) Steering Group. The SYCP is in its infancy and was formed after the Southern Yorke Peninsula Partnership of public schools held a Community Partnerships Planning forum in late 2014 where stakeholders in the wellbeing of children and young people were invited to plan joint actions that will improve the health and wellbeing and education outcomes for children and young people in our community.
The SYCP Steering Group is “working to improve the wellbeing of the Southern Yorke Peninsula Community”.
The SYCP Steering Group currently includes members from Department of Education and Child Development (DECD) Yorke Peninsula Schools and Preschools, Department of Education and Child Development, Country Health SA, Health SA and Yorke Peninsula Council. The Steering Group welcomes new members who wish to support the objectives of the group.

In 2015, the SYCP Steering Group has focused on “developing collaborative strategies which support improved outcomes for children, young people and families across the Southern Yorke Peninsula” by:
a) Developing a deeper understanding of the date
b) Engaging key services
c) Engaging parents and building the capacity of service providers
A key focus to date has been to map existing services available to young people and families on the Yorke Peninsula. A copy of the directory is available here:
