The revenue Council derives from rates enables the Council to continue to respond to the changing needs of Yorke Peninsula communities. Council uses rates to meet the increasing expectations and demands for both new and improved services.
It is important to note that as the region grows, Council will face increasing pressure on its resources to deliver more and more services and it is committed to doing so in an environment of relatively low levels of rates and user charges.
When determining the rates and user charges Council considers its Strategic Management Plan, Long Term Financial Plan, the current economic climate, imposed legislative changes and the need to manage the community’s physical infrastructure. Having your say on Council planning documents provides you with a chance to direct the Council rates policies and requirements.
