Section 188 of the Local Government Act 1999 allows councils to impose fees and charges for a variety of reasons such as licences or permits, use of council of facilities, etc.

The Yorke Peninsula Council reviews and updates fees and charges each year as part of the annual budget preparation process. The annual review of the Fees and Charges Register supports Council’s aim to operate an effective and efficient cost-recovery system ensuring alignment with the cost of providing those services.
