Motorists on the Vincent Highway and local residents will be able to see the Maritime Constructions ship off Rogues Point from Wednesday 7 June when it starts building the new reef. Over the next month local limestone and custom made concrete structures will be placed over the 4 hectare site.
The existing Dry Area at Port Victoria expires on 6th December 2017. Council is seeking the views of the local community and businesses about the effectiveness of the Dry Area and whether there is any evidence of displacement issues.
