Immerse yourself in the rich traditions and cultural heritage of the Nharangga dhura (Narungga people) at the Nharangga Cultural Day on Sunday, 5 May.
This vibrant event offers a unique opportunity for both locals and visitors to experience and learn about traditional science, knowledge, skills, culture, and the importance of caring for Country.
Hosted at the picturesque Minlagawi Gum Flat Reserve in Minlaton, the celebration will take place on Sunday, 5 May, from 10.30 am to 1.30pm
The event is proudly presented by Nharangga Aboriginal Progress Association, Narungga Nation Aboriginal Corporation and Yorke Peninsula Council, with funding support from the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board, Red Cross and Country Arts SA.
Building on the success of the last two years, this year’s program offers even more excitement and engagement.
Participants can experience guided walks which offering a unique perspective on the land and its significance.
Enjoy the flavours of the land with bush tucker samples, including kangaroo tacos, wattle seed damper prepared over a warm fire, lemon myrtle biscuits, and kangaroo soup.
The Nharangga Artists Market will also be a highlight, offering a chance to meet the artists, explore their inspirations, and perhaps find a special piece to take home.
From dance workshops to art sessions, songs in language to face painting, there is something for everyone to enjoy and participate in.
Bring along a picnic basket and rug and immerse yourself in the great outdoors of Nharangga Banggara (Narungga Country).
