Over several months, Yorke Peninsula Council has been working with WAX Design on the concept report for Robert Street, Maitland.

Council will present the Robert Street, Maitland, Draft Concept Report at a final community feedback session on Thursday, 25 August.

Currently, Robert Street is impacted by a number of challenges and has many social, economic, and environmental opportunities.

What is apparent is the community’s desire for Robert Street to develop as a vibrant main street filled with amenity, public space, and community value.

The Robert Street Draft Concept Report provides a planning framework for the main street of Maitland, ensuring that future actions, development proposals, public and private investment, and capital works contribute to achieving the vision for Robert Street while ensuring the town’s sense of place and intrinsic character remain intact.

The planning, projects and materials palette illustrate a progressive framework of actions for Robert Street.

The recommendations contained within this document will require an ongoing commitment from the community, Council, key stakeholders, investors and State Government.
